Ver*sagen ver*lernen

“Ver*sagen ver*lernen” is a participatory art project on feminist-intersectional empowerment, in which girls*, vocational school students and women* vocally take up space and make themselves heard. Over the course of a year, the artists’ collective organizes continuous meetings, workshops and performances with the residents of the Simmering housing estate Macondo. Using artistic methods, a joint learning process will be initiated to unlearn sexist, racist and classist attributions of self and others, which often lead to fear of failure and social exclusion at a young age. Based on the joint sound-based practice, a mobile, polyphonic sound sculpture – the PRO:TEST SOUND ORIGINATOR – is developed, which is fed by the sound of voices, multilingual poetry, noises, self-made instruments and field recordings. Joint artistic sessions produce performances, videos, a radio show and a podcast, among other things. “Ver*sagen ver*lernen” is as much an attitude as it is a program
