{over-} above_level 1 is the video of a site-specific intervention in the lift of the University of Applied Arts, Vienna.

Super Suzie and Super Véro requisition the art school lift, putting it out of normal service, and turn it into a transformation machine. Super Suzie and Super Véro get into the lift, shed their normal selves, leave the day-to-day world behind them, and set out on a journey of continuous transformation. They metamorphose into grotesquely over-stylised characters, fashioned from media archetypes and out of a knowing confrontation with their own societal roles and self-images. The Art School lift becomes a volatile moving stage, an unpredictable transporter through space and time.
